Pop goes Froggio Review

Another game from Hasbro - Pop Goes Froggio RRP £14.99

This game is aged 3+, my daughter absolutely loves this game.

In the box you have a lillypad flower center unit with a spinner on and pictures.  Attached to this is a foot pump.  There are lillypads with animal pictures on corresponding to the pictures on the flower unit and a light weight Froggio which sits on the top of the flower.

The aim of the game is to collect the lillypads and the person with the most wins.  The lillypads are placed animal picture side down around the room.  People take turns each to spin the spinner and whichever animal it lands on this is the animal you have to search for by turning over the lillypads.  Whoever finds the animal runs to the flower unit and stamps on the foot pump which makes Froggio jump from the flower, that person then tries to catch him.  If he is caught the lillypad is kept, if not the lillipad is placed back on the floor animal side down.  The person with the most lillypads when they are all collected is the winner.

My 3 year old daughter loves this game however she finds it a little difficult co-ordinating herself quick enough to catch Froggio.  We change to game slightly so that she stamps on the foot pump to make Froggio jump and I catch Froggio.  She gets really excited when I catch him and finds it ever so funny if I fail to catch him.

Monkey Dunk Review

I was very lucky to be chosen to review the game Monkey Dunk from Hasbro RRP £12.99

This game is from 4 years up, my 3 year old was very excited to receive this game as she had seen it on TV adverts.

In the box are 16 monkeys 4 in each colour, an elephant timer, lots of banana tokens and a lillypad.

To object of the game is to get all your monkeys into the pots by the time the elephant timer pops up, if you get the monkeys into the pots you earn banana tokens.  Person with the most tokens wins.

You have to flick the monkeys into the pots by pushing on the back of the monkey (a bit like playing tiddlywinks) before the Elephant timer pops up.  My 3 year old finds it a little difficult making the monkey jump high enough to get it over the box sides and into the pots, although given enough time she does eventually manage to get them in but cannot do it within the time is takes for the Elephant timer to pop up.

The lillypad makes the game a little harder, you place this into a pot and any monkeys landing here will not be counted as a win.

This is a really nice game to play with the family and my 2 year old tries to join in but instead of flicking the monkeys she throws them in which makes her happy.

I would say to play the game properly that from 4 years is apt,  I do think the Elephant timer would be better if it gave a little more time as I can see how this can make younger children frustrated.

Update on the Graco Nautilus 1-2-3

Update 5/7/2011
As my daughter tends to fall asleep quite alot in the Graco Nautilus 1-2-3 I have decided to move her to another car seat I was really unhappy about her head slumping forward everytime she fell asleep. I will use the Graco Nautilus 1-2-3 again when she is older.
